Hello all,

We had a fantastic week at Ambrose! Despite the cold temperatures, students loved venturing outside to enjoy the snow. ❄️

On Friday, during our upcoming All-School Meeting, students will watch our Grade 4 and 5 music concert. We are looking forward to hearing their musical talents, led by Mr. Alves.

In honor of Book Madness, classrooms have been decorating their doors to represent a favorite book from their class. Before vacation, students will walk around the school to view all of the creative designs.

Just a reminder: if your child is participating in Valentine’s Day celebrations, they should bring a Valentine for each student in their classroom. 💌

We have been spreading kindness throughout the building. Together with their buddies students created kindness marshmallows to fill their cup! See the photos below.

Lastly, breakfast is served each day at Ambrose beginning at 7:45 a.m. Please have your child enter through the main door if they will be getting breakfast.

Kindergarten Registration February 9th

Kindergarten: 2026–2027 Registration will open on Monday, February 9. To be eligible, children must be Winchester residents and at least five years old on or before September 1, 2026. The Winchester Public School Kindergarten program follows the same full-day schedule as Grades 1-5 and is tuition-free. Register here beginning on February 9.

World Down Syndrome Day: March 21st

On March 21st Ambrose will come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. Pleas have your child wear mismatched socks.

Mismatched socks are worn because the karyotype of D's chromosomes looks like mismatched socks.

Transition to Kindergarten Panel: March 25th

Kindergarten: Transition to Kindergarten Panel and Resource Fair, hosted by Parent to Parent Winchester: Save the Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2026, 6:30–8:00 p.m. at Lynch Elementary School. Parents and guardians, join us for this interactive panel discussion about the non-academic aspects of transitioning to Kindergarten. Prior to the panel, explore a Community Resource Fair featuring after-school opportunities for your school-age children. Panelists will include Superintendent of Schools, Frank Hackett, Ed.D., a school nurse, a kindergarten teacher, a school psychologist, and all five elementary school principals. The Community Resource Fair will include parent representatives from all five elementary schools, as well as enrichment opportunities and after-school care providers.

Pets on School Grounds

For the safety and comfort of all students, dogs are not permitted on school property. We understand that many children are fearful of dogs, so we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing pets during arrival and dismissal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Lost and Found

To help us return lost belongings to their rightful owners, please be sure to label all of your child’s items with their full name. Last year, we donated many gently used items—beautiful coats, sweatshirts, and sweaters—to ENKA simply because they were unclaimed. We’d much rather return them to you! Please note that all items will be donated at the end of each month.
